Workshop on Land Law, Forestry Law, and the Work of Land Use Planning

traning-of-besic-lawA workshop providing basic knowledge on land law, forestry law, and the work of Land Use Planning was held on the 27th of March, 2014 at the meeting room of the Sanamxai District Agriculture and Forestry Office in the Atapeu Province. Presiding was Ms. Manila Xaysomboun, Deputy District Governor of Sanamxai. Participants came from the District Agriculture and Forestry Office, the District Office of Natural Resources and Environment, and the village Natural Resource Management committees, along with 17 staff members of the Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH). The participants were the same team that implemented the GAA program in the Atapeu Province. The purpose of the workshop was to provide knowledge and understanding to the participants regarding agriculture and forestry law and the importance of land use planning. Throughout the training the participants learned about the importance of natural resources to livelihood, land use management, and natural resources, basic knowledge of the laws, rights, and duties of villages in managing land use and natural resources. In addition to learning theory, the instructor also integrated materials to explain the lessons as well as sharing experiences for mutual learning. On the evening of the 28th of March, 2014 the workshop ended, having achieved the goals set out from the beginning.
